Back to Basics at BJ's?

From www.boston.com

An interview with Laura Sen on the future of BJ's...

How does it feel to take over during one of the worst economic crises?
We are fortunately in a business model that is well-positioned in a bad economy or a good economy. There's been a migration toward value in the retail world over the years. The value players are the winners. Do I have concerns about what the future may bring or what may happen to us? Sure, but we're very well positioned to not only survive but to grow.

Do you foresee any cuts in BJ's workforce or store closings?
For the moment, we're creating jobs. We just opened a club in Revere. But we're always looking for new efficiencies in our supply chain and club processes. We do not expect any job cuts at this time. That being said, we're very cautious about increased spending.

How long do you think the recession will last?
I wish I had a crystal ball. My guess is all of 2009 will be a tough year. We might see some light in a year from now. A lot rests on the administration and what kind of stimulus they can get that will reignite employment, housing, and the credit markets.

What is the best way to jump-start the economy - a spending stimulus, tax cuts, rebate checks?
A rebate check to somebody who is unemployed helps them for a very short time. What needs to happen - and it's the same approach we use here - is we need long-term sustainable measures that will create fertilizer for the ground so things can grow. We need systemic efforts - focusing on infrastructure improvements that will create jobs, education, and social programs that will help create jobs, and some of the tax measures will help create spending.

  3. We have these meetings lead by our fearless GM. About once a month he reads a letter from Laura. She ends everyone with "I look forward to seeing you in my travels" (or something close to that. My question is Has anyone ever seen her in the field - outside of what I'm sure is a cozy office - out in a club?? She should visit the NJ/PA market.

"What corporate should do is contact former employees (hourlies and management) to find out the what REALLY happens at the clubs".
I AM STILL WAITING FOR A WAY TO CONTACT LAURA, OR TO HAVE HER CONTACT ME !!!!!!

i hate to say this, but Laura Sen doesn't care about any of us. as long as the company is acheiving sales goals, that's all that matters. and who could blame her, she's riding the big ol BJ to the top.

  6. i have worked at bj's since graduating high school last year, and i have been treated rather badly. after the schedule is posted i am constantly asked to switch my days off and my hours as well. i am a cashier, but they have me doing lp-front door and i told them i had no interest in anything but cashiering, they wouldnt take no for an answer, and being im flexible they take advantage of me.

the fls's all take turns calling out and flipping other peoples schedules, i think this is unfair. i brought this up to my manager, and she told me that they appreciate my flexibility, but what about my days off that i would like to enjoy? i always dread answering the phone when they call me. aking me to work in the food court when someone calls out. i need the money because i would like to move out, and i wouldnt mind working extra hours, but they always switch me around so i get inconvenienced and then i get 37.5 hours. does this happen at other bj's? i never call out, and i try to be helpful to my managers and co-workers, but i would like some extra incentive for my flexibility. and a food court voucher is not going to be the answer. sorry for the the long post.

Welcome to the world of BJ'S
    A couple of questions

    1. When you filled out your application, what did you write down for availability?
    2. Become an FLS,learn Member Services and you can make more $$$ with LESS grief, and less chance of write-ups
    3. By showing initiative ( which you are currently doing ), you could possibly move into Management, make even more $$$ than you EVER COULD being a cashier.

JUST REMEMBER THIS- We can't control everything that happens
to us, BUT... we can control how we respond to what happen to us.

  8. When I was offered this job, I was guaranteed 40 hours. Now because of cuts I am only getting 30. With lunch I'm now only getting 27. WTF? How am I supposed to survive on that. They don't care about us in the least. I already took a huge pay cut coming here and now I'm about to loose my home. Thanks for the lies BJ's. When I asked about my house being cut, My manager asked if I was turning in my resignation. Where is the compassion? The managers are all a joke, over paid and hypocrites. They are salary, with much less to worry about. I'm so over qualified for this job.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Compassion...Think disruption, panic,low moral.THEY DON'T CARE.
Less operating costs ( payroll falls into this catagory ) means the higher ups get A LARGER BONUS. Sorry to be so blunt, but you are just a cog in the BJ'S wheel.

  10. So to who ever said get rid of Rachel... you must be an idiot! As for Cory where is he going anyway? ... we will all be lost without him at club 13. As far as management goes ... you have to take the good with the bad because they can take all the bad management we have and replace them and we will still have bad management we'll wind up with someone who is worse in some way or another or the good one's left will turn nasty becoming arrogant and whatnot. Change is always going to happen no matter what! You just need to learn to go with the flow. As long as you feel change is bad, it will be bad. If you just go with it and let things happen it will all work it's way out in the end, good bad or otherwise. Mike might not seem right for club 13 and I miss Rich terribly, but obviously it was time to make a change and why not start at the top. In this economy no matter how much bullshit you have to deal with at work, just be glad you have a job!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Cory started off as an overnight ticketer.
Rachel started off as a cashier. They came up through the ranks and paid their dues.
    They are:
    1. WORKING MANAGERS
    2. ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT PEOPLE
The rest of the Management at 13
ONLY care about themselves, and are doing as little as possible to keep their jobs in this difficult economy.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Rich had his problems, but at least he wasn't on his cell phone all day. I don't understand how a GM can hide on the receiving dock on a killer weekend, while the club is getting destroyed, and just sit and relax chatting on his phone. Mike better get his act together, or he'll go the way Adam went.

    ReplyDelete
  13. There are MANY reasons why GM'S do what they do... VERY FEW care, and that is sad. All they care about is sales. Higher $$$ means bigger bonus. A GM is to deligate and direct, let those lesser managers deal with the BS. Overnight ticketers restock the shelves, GM'S have 'Paid their dues, thus lets not do too much'. WHAT A SHAME

  14. Where's George????? Maple Shade needs you!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. After the way George got screwed by corporate, do you HONESTLY think he will ever be a GM AGAIN?
The answer is a resounding NO !!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Poor George .... he's getting the royal shaft again. I hear he's being transferred to Hamilton. How about a 60 mile drive each way to work everyday.

    ReplyDelete
  17. AND HAMILTON IS HELL TO WORK AT.
Half of the overnight crew made their own utility knives that looked like home made jail knives. Had a HELL of a time to get them to do their work WHEN they showed up.Due to the TRENTON population, shrink is high. Good luck George...

  18. What the hell was Rafat thinking by changing GM's right before inventory. That was not to brite on his part.and bringing a GM that isn't even wet behind the ears.He is from a low volume club like Deptford,And how about all the people getting fired for stealing, and yes that was under Mike's Management in Deptford.Yeah transfer him to a high volume club that's the answer. Now Rich has to deal with the mess and have to fill all those positions. The next thing you'll here is that Mike became a regional some where, that's what happens with this company when you screw up you move up.Or if your a manger kiss up,and that a damm shame if you have to be that way, with your regionals or the VP.

    ReplyDelete
  19. OR, you can have a FALL from Corporate to Store Level like Rich did, which got George transfered.....

No one EVER said RAFAT was bright !!!!

I have recently left Hamilton's overnight crew and I can assure you that no one on the overnight crew is using a home made "jail" knife. For the most part, the overnight crew are reliable, hardworking team members. All clubs have at least one employee that has attendance issues or whose work habits aren't the best. Hamilton is no exception .... but is it not as bad as this person makes it out to be. I do wish George the best of luck, but I think there are others at Hamilton that may need a bit more luck then George.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Perhaps things have changed at Hamilton ( HA HA HA ). Back in the days when they FIRST OPENED, events such as "jail" knives were commonplace. Yes it is true that most of the overnight employees and managers have a thankless job and do it well. If you ever had the pleasure of working for Bob, Dawn, Kimber and Cathy at Hamilton, you would know why !!!!!Why did you leave overnights if it was so good ?

  23. An operations manager just got screwed in the linden club, it goes to show that no matter what you do you aint safe. This guy really changed club 67 around and he got the shaft for allegedly giving out his alarm codes but it was all payback from his gm since he tried to get her for a scheme she had going if I were him I would sue BJ's for discrimination he had all the evidence and she didnt get fired because she knows someone in the Home Office totally BS

  24. Most employees in the United States are at-will employees, even though most employees are unaware of this situation. NJ is an at will state.
In most states, the law presumes that private sector employees are employed "at-will." The employment-at-will doctrine provides that both the employer and the employee can end the employment relationship at any time without notice or reason. This means the employer has the right to terminate your employment at any time, for any reason, or for no reason at all or for a bad reason, so long as the reason is not illegal - even if you performance has been outstanding.

MANY good employees (Hourlies and Management) have been terminated because someone had "an issue" with them. Because of this law, BJ'S does win most of the cases; but they have also lost a few.

By the way, how did you come up with a discrimination lawsuit. If anything, it should be wrongful termination.

  25. Do the GM's use a BJ's company jet to go to Florida for the GM meeting?? If so, let's hope they do not need to go to Washington for a bailout!!!!!!!!!! MA cashier.

  30. "Mike W's gotta go!!!! Club #13 has such low moral now. I've been there three years and its worse now than ever."

3 years??? Who are you to tell BJ's how to run one of their most profitable clubs in NJ. You're still wet behind the ears and should go work for City Liquors since you're so unhappy. That should teach you some respect. BJ's is a great company to work for, you should be kissing their feets and licking their toes.

You have been working for #13 for 3years now, so it can't be that bad. You must be one of those angry deli clerks that thinks their shit don't stink. Love it or leave it. Goto Wegman's, ya ingrate.

  31. WHAT Willy Mo said
was immature, irrelevant, and we do not care about the sexual fetishes of Willie Moe. All this person said was that morale was low. Willie Moe MUST be one of the unhappy clerks
    he speaks so highly of.

I said Rafat is bright, and well respected. Too bad you haven't a clue. Rafat has respectfully earned the credentials that go along with the territory. He's a far better DM than Adam S. will ever be. I have had great communication with Rafat and my club's #'s have been increasing ever since.

  35. BJ's sucks ass. They open a new club and bring all the mid amangers but two from a troubled club along with the GM. I am one of the managers that is new to the company. And I can tell you this: from my short (and hopefully soon over) employment with BJ's they care nothing for the team members that make the club work. They are over paid hypocrites who think they are better than the team members. Got news for them all... if team members weren't running registers, standing at the door, sweeping the floors, checking in merchandise...etc... the club would not run. So take some of your fat bonuses and share it with the people who really run the club: THE TEAM MEMBERS.

  39. I see everyone has issues at thier club. Its so many politics at my store. I am quiet and hardly noticed at my club but I see and hear everything. I work at club 150 and I see it everyday. We have this amazon as our HR manager and one night I was working in the gas station and seen her boyfriend with his car in the tire center, doing his brakes. Most of our managers are married and its an awful lot of affairs going on. The black girls that work the front are so ..... Managers hire friends and let them do whatever. I been there almost 3 years and thier friends get hired and get better schedules than me,

    ReplyDelete
  40. Club 150 isn't all bad. Of course we have some managers on power trips, but what company doesn't? From my point of view in the work place I do see compassion from managers for the hourlies(most of whom started working as a hourly team member), but we do have managers who just don't care. Working at 150 I see a lot of favoritism. I know people have their favorites, but it should be on work ethic not just who's buddy-buddy outside of work. Work morale sure has gone down from when I began at BJ's. I think the Union at BJ's would be wise.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The problem at Club 150 is that everybody is always in someone else's business. If you work in the gas station why are you worrying about whats going on in the tire center. Some of the managers are not worth anything, but some of them will do anything they can, IF YOU ASK!! If you have an issue instead of writing about it on a blog talk to someone. This is a waste of your time cause its not getting the problem solved. Why did you say only the black girls on the front? Is it a racist issue? What about the white people that work there? Are they exepmt from following the rules? Most other clubs have way more problems and much deeper issues!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. for the last comment made, if you are doing what you are supposed to be doing at work, then you wouldnt care if the gas attendant sees something in the tire center. So in other words you are saying," dont look at what I'm not supposed to be doing." Talking to someone at 150 is a waste of time. Your people got attitude when you try to talk to them about something. I talked to a manager about an issue then all that managers buddys knew what we talked about so talking to 150 managers is a joke. I'm not racist but its the black girls with all the attitude. I know things that only managers are supposed to know so that tells me that managers are not the one to tell something. Who in the "BUDDY" crew is going to get the open manager position? Is this up for discussion? Its some severe favoritism going on at 150, just wish higher up would open thier eyes and see it. Its gotten really bad at my club. I dont doubt that other clubs have more problems than us but no other club can compare to the buddy favoritism at our club.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I totally agree and find that it is so funny how a position is posted for anyone to bid for, but before they even post it they know who they are giving it to. That's ridiculous and not fair. Why waste someones time when you already know their bid is going right in the trash cause your friend does not have to put in a bid or do any work just talk about people and suck up to you and their in. I'm wondering what happened to the days when you had to work to earn your position? It's all been replaced by "the Buddy system". That's ridiculous!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have noticed that whomever gets promoted at our club is a suck up to HR. Its just so many politics at our club. Our present HR sucked up to our last HR and took her job.I wish corporate would start just popping up at our club without telling our GM because all he do is lets the ones know who slacking that they are coming and when they get there, its like its supposed to be until they leave. They need to look at the people who got promoted and find out how they got promoted. Did they threaten to quit to get a promotion or did thier "BUDDY" put in a good word for them. Sometimes it sickens me and sometimes is just so funny.

    ReplyDelete
  45. To the last couple comments, why dont yall stop crying, we all know who going to get the job. By the moves that happened today, everyone knows who about to step up. Yall sicken me trying to do shit on the sly when everyone knows whats taking place. Just come out and say who"s getting the position so we all can say,"I told you so". Dont let everyone bid when all along you know who" getting it. Thats what hurts, when you screw people as if they dont know what you are doing. then you be in thier face as if you didnt know why they didnt get it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. These comments are so funny. We hear about all the drama that goes on at 150. I thought our club was bad but I present that award to you guys. Someone called our club and gave us names to the buddy list and who"s doing who. we couldnt believe it. Ones that act all high and mighty are the very ones on the list. Its spreading like wild fire. They need to make a reality show called club 150, lol.I dont work there and have no buddys there so the more BS I hear the more I want to just put the names out there, people would be shocked and some people would say I knew it! I heard things about the GM all the way down to the trash getter. You guys are looking real bad right now. Other clubs are calling us and asking if we heard about the buddy list at 150 and who"s doing who. Cross the wrong person and they are going to tell it all, believe me, I heard that myself.

    ReplyDelete
  47. You must know what most of us already know. Im glad other stores know. Tell the names please. You throw something out there and I will throw something out there. Say the position of the ones who having an affair and we will know who that is. Just put it out there. We all already know, we just wanna feel good knowing other clubs know. Did yall hear the one about money coming up missing at our store, someone took a week off to go out of state, got fired and rehired the same day. everyone who quits or gets fired be back in a couple months. My coworkers must really got something on our higher up to let this sitcom go on even further. Its new episodes everyday so stay tuned to this website. Its gotten intriging

  48. OMG! Did you guys hear about the girl at 150 in the lower office who is writing people up simply because she dont like them. The funny part is that management knows about it and she still in there. I wouldnt trust her with the clubs money if she is doing underminded things like that out of spite.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think the last post about 150 is untrue. There are a lot of things about that store that is unprofessional, but that one is probably just a rumor that was started by someone who dislikes the team members in the lower office. I think everyone who wants to start drama needs to get a life. With that said, be thankful you are not one of the millions of people having to collect an unemployment check.

    ReplyDelete
  50. poeple need to stop with all this bulls.....all mods are not that bad.we have good poeple who work at club150.but poeple do talk to much.not all rumors are true.go talk to that person if you dont like them.

    ReplyDelete
  51. To the lower office reply, I dont even work at 150 so how do I dislike anyone there. Now you have me wanting to find out who dislikes who. I work at Norcross and know people there so I hear shit. You have former employees that work here and tell us whatever they hear about you guys. Now the new issue is who dont like who at 150. I will find out soon enough and again I will be on here letting you guys know. Are any of these issues true or are they rumors. The only issue you guys defended was the last one so does that mean the other issues at 150 are rumor. I need to find out who dislike who then maybe that person will spill the beans. Just give us that, you defended the person in the lower office but didnt defend the hr, the gm or anyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  52. TO THE PERSON FROM NORCROSS TRYING TO GET IN THE BUSINESS AT 150, KEEP YOUR SHIT STARTING ASS AT NORCROSS!!! YOUR ONE OF THE MAIN PEOPLE THAT STARTED THE SO CALLED
"BUDDY SYSTEM" AT 150. WE DONT LIKE YOU THEY DONT LIKE YOU..YOU AND I BOTH KNOW ALL YOU ARE GOOD FOR!!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. To be truely honest, if we were doing things like we are supposed to be, then there would be nothing to start. I know that people arent just picking on our club for no reason. It the attack defense that we are portraying that make the accusations seem suspect. We are supposed to be an extended family so lets get over the issues we have at our club and stand together. Lets strive to be the better club and show them haters that we can get along and be professional at what we do. Lets be responsible for our actions and not do less and forget our job duties simply because we have a
"friend" thats higher up than us. I love you guys. Come on lets do better.

  56. Attention who ever posted the last comment about me!!! You obviously do not know who I am!!!!!! For your info I no longer work at Bj’s. I haven’t been there in two weeks. I have moved on to better things!!!! If you really new me you would know that if I have something to say I will say it to their face. Gloria you should already know that. I have already told you about yourself when you were at 150, yes we know it’s you telling your club what goes on at 150. It's more than likely your boy freind is posting this stuff. Also everyone that has been posting comments should be embarrassed, you need to lean how to type and use better grammar.

The managers and team members work their ass off at 150. Yes some do more than others but that is any where you go. Everyone needs to worry about their self. Most of the time the people that complain about others not doing their job are the main one not working. That’s why so many team member have been doing the same job for many years with out a promotion or been given star of the month. Team members wonder why the same people keep getting star of the month. Well just doing the basic to get by is not enough. You actually have to work to make something of yourself. Things are not just going to be handed to you. Why dose it matter who is having sex with who? It’s not our business. The person you are referring to is not having sex with anyone but her husband. She has made it to ware she is today because she works hard and spent many years in collage, unlike some of you uneducated people. Also for your info the lower office person has not wrote corrective in 4 months the CSM dose it. If the team members were doing what they should correctives would not be an issuse!

Everyone wants to post all these comments that are not true but will not leave theirb name. All of you that post anonymous are cowards and should be ashamed of yourselfs. Before you post something check your facts. If your not happy with Bj's find a new job or quit complaining!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Melissa is that fat mexican right? She talks about education and incorrect grammer. Here is a couple words that her educated ass mispelled;thierb, collage. She says," you need to
lean better grammar" , "you need to lean how to type". How do you know who that person is having sex with? you just as bad as we are unless you follow her around 24/7. More mispelled words,"collage". Go eat a burrito and sit your chubby ass down, talking about grammer and education but mispelled 5 words and used words in the wrong text. You are pathetic to leave your club but still be in the business, why are you even on here if you have moved to something better? you havent, 150 is a sitcom and we over here is just sitting back, watching.

    ReplyDelete
  58. LMFAS! man I didnt know you were really going to type that stuff for real! Why are so many people under the radar at 150. No one says anything about uncle teressa or the big white girl who wanna be black or the girls behind the desk or the very skinny girl who used to go through domestic violence, qiut and came back or does that toyota guy still come around or the fat girl who likes a manager or the black girl who quit to go strip then came back because no one wanted to see that or the terrorist in the tire center who does nothing but cry to mommy or the fake singer in the back. You know who told me all this shit and sorry if you notice you are in this, we just wanna know all the juice at 150. GOD BLESS

    ReplyDelete
  59. You are referring to people. People have feelings; they can be feelings of sadness, but you are going to piss the wrong person off. My feelings are just hurt because you are talking about people I care about. Every single one of them. 150 is not a club that consists of team members. Its a home with a family. And everyone who wants to talk crap about my family should take an insightful look in the mirror and ask themselves, "Would I want someone to blog about my faults online for the whoever to see?". The answer would be no. Here are some facts for the uneducated: It is MRS. TERESA, everyone at our club deserves respect; Everyone is entitled to their personal business; Everyone is entitled to interpersonal relationships; Everyone at our club is beautiful; Racial remarks are not needed in the least bit; There are NO terrorist at our club, unless they are on this blog terrorizing others; And everyone has the right to sing even if they are tone deaf, and to clarify: I do not know who you are referring to so I don't know if that person is tone deaf, I AM. And if you were a true God-fearing person you would have not treated people in the manner you did and said "God Bless". There is no more "juice" at our club than yours or anyone else's.

Sorry if any words were misspelled or incorrect grammar, I know how that offends everyone. :)

150 is my family. And I am deeply sorry if your workplace is not as wonderful as mine. Please, everyone have a wonderful day.

    Much Love to my family.

  61. Some of you may think you’re posting anonymous but I have news for you they can track every thing you post. Don’t you think the company can track the IP address that these comments come from? Everyone is so stupid. These comments are considered slander and you can be sued. They can subpoena the websites recorders. You can be terminated for speaking badly about the company you work for. And guess what no unemployment for you! Then what are you going to do?

  62. I don’t know why you’re talking shit about Melissa. You don’t even know who she is. She was one of the best managers we had a 150. She is not Mexican. Any time I needed help she was there. Unlike some managers that stay in their departments/offices and only come out then it’s closing time. People need to stop with all this drama

  63. I have news for the person who commented and was threatening all of us about posting our feelings - They cannot and will not fire us for so called slandering an employee of the company that we all have either worked for or are still working for, all of these comments that have been posted lately have all been personal attacks against employees not the company! I think that all of us would like to accomplish is an equal and fair workplace for everybody. They can track the ip address if they want to! Everything that is posted is somebodies feelings, and as far as I know you are entitled to your own feelings and beleifs. Unless you work with people like you! The company is not that bad to work for, it actually has alot of benefits that you will not find if you go anywhere else ie. birthday pay, personal days, holiday pay for full-time & part-time eployees etc. It is some but not all the people that work here that make it an awful place to work...

  64. Seriously people...Since everyone seems to want to accuse everyone else at 150 of sleeping with someone or everyone...why don't yall just go ahead and throw the names out there! Eeeing as how y'all seem to really want to know, throw them out and let them comfirm or deny! No sense in starting bullcrap about everyone in 150! If not, then get over yourself, worry about YOU and your club and not whats going on at 150! Crap gets spread so easily and quickly thru EVERY club it's ridiculous! If someone is seen eating lunch with another co-worker...THEY ARE AUTOMATICALLY SLEEPING WITH THAT PERSON! Worry about you and your life, and stay otu of everyone elses personal lives! What someone does on their free time OUTSIDE of BJ's is their business, and it dont need to be spread like water! If they want their business out, then they will inform everyone! Leave it be! Seriously, this is getting old we are all grown adults (well, some of us)..stop starting drama! Find something in your own personal life to worry about! In fact..GET A DAMN LIFE!

  65. club you know
Everyone at my club knows about this website. There is a lot of negative comments about fellow team members. I feel that a couple people were just venting because they have issues that no one seems to be concerned about. I think this BJ's Workers Blog was a good place to do that and they felt comfortable doing so on here because they noticed that they could post anonymous. They feel that if they bring these issues up that thier job would be threatened and the reason I feel this way is because if they find out who posted anonymously they are going to be fired. People want to find out who posted what so bad but thats why I'm thanking you because you let the team members without a voice be heard without the fear of repremand. Instead of trying to find out who posted what, I think they should try to right the wrongs within instead of planning a vengeance on the postee. Once again thank you for having a place for the "no voices" be heard.

  66. Hi all, I was wondering if bj's is an at will store. Meaning they can fire you at anytime? or in other words can you be fired from bj's for missing one day of work after a week and a half after you started and Call in sick? Thanks for any answers to this question.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yes Bjs is a at work for will company. If you work their and you complain to any human resource idiot. Even if you are right and I gurrantee that you would be right. They will make up correctives to get ride off you like at club 39. Then when you write a letter to higher ups HR they will say that the decison is final although you never got to talk to any hire -up. Wake up people quit before you get fired. They always take the manager's word over any employee. Even when most managers are breaking the law. And do not even try to apply for a supervisor or maanger postion if you have experience. I had over 7 years of experience they will promise you that they will promote you. But then they will hire one of the friends of the supervisor and promote them. Then they will stick you on the register and trust me you will fail because they expect a perfect employee. Then you will get yelled at by the 20 year old supervisor, and they will be unprofessional and yell at you in front of the staff. Or you will have a 20 year manager trying to tell you what to do. Do not ever work thier unless you want to collect an unemployment check

  69. The Oaks, PA location looks good and seemed to be held together well. HR is Angela who doesn't remember anything or anyone and can't seem to keep her act together. GM Wayne is cool but can't make eye contact or call people when he says he will. I was waiting in the breakroom and noticed the majority of the employees...I don't quite fit the model being white and a man and all. No calls back, no professional courtesy, all talk, no walk...they practically wanted me to start that day and wayne's like I will call u today or tomorrow...of course, nothing. I call Angela and she does the Usual HR biz of taking a message and knowing nothing. HR should be changed to Secretary...thats all they are

  70. Does anybody know how to get through to a director, CEO, Vice president or someone higher up at BJ's corporate office? The operator NEVER picks up the phone. Does anyone have a name of somebody in consumer relations at corporate? If I had a name, I could do a directory search. If they don't listen to customers concerns they are going to lose an immense amount of business. It does NO good to voice concerns at a BJS store location. Every manager I have talked to has NOT helped me and when I ask about a name at corporate they walk away from me. Quite rude and insensitive way to treat a disabled person.

    ReplyDelete
  71. If I don't and members of my family don't get some information on how to contact the CEO of Consumer Relations at BJS my entire family tree of over 30 separate memberships will be CANCELLED. We are all getting fed up with the attitude of the managers and the lack of real help or TRUE customer service. People remember a manager who has been nice, but they NEVER forget a manager who has been untruthful and less than helpful. WORD OF MOUTH IS POWERFUL. I am starting an internet campaign to spread by word of mouth what a RIPOFF BJS has become. BJS prices are the SAME AS RETAIL and it's supposed to be a WHOLESALE CLUB!! IT IS NOT ANYMORE. I can get most of the products I used to by at BJS cheaper at RETAIL stores most of the time now. Why should we pay $45 a year to be treated unfairly, evaded, walked away from by managers? Why would anyone pay $45 a year to belong to a club when you can get the merchandise cheaper at regular stores? BJS you have become a NiGHTMARE. WORD OF MOUTH and internet works. I don't work anymore and I promise I will spend a fair amount of time spreading the word EVERYWHERE. You're going down BJS. Hope you enjoy going out of business, because that is where you are headed, just like your SKANK predecessors ZAYRES AND AMES. You are LYING about being a wholesale club, YOU ARE NOT ANYMORE.

  72. BJ's is a joke..Managers are not trained to handle employees, the mgrs in oaks talk down to the team members. If you have a problem they don't try to listen. There is no growth in the company.
