  1. Our General Manager must be going for GM of the year. With sales way up & hours way down, he's on his way to being dickhead of the year.

Way to go, keep making us pump gas shorthanded in the cold.

  2. You might want to get a transfer to that new Florida store. Until then, get some mittens.

  3. The ONLY thing your GM is interested in is keeping his job with the salary and bonus. He knows in todays market, new jobs are tough to find. Increased sales means increased bonus. He has NO concern for you. So stay or leave, the choice is yours

  4. Well here we go again we are all working a million hours. Were allowed to come in early and stay late. Isn't that great ?! But when January comes they'll forget all about how many hours we worked and will think nothing of cutting all of our hours. Apparently we all need the money and we still need it in January. And whats up with these union meetings ? They shouldn't even have to worry about usw joining a union. Maybe they're worried because they know people are upset with how hard they work only to get yelled at for not doing someone elses job. Before when you were a cashier all you had to do was ring register. not any more ! Now you have to push carts in the rain. And the worst part is they don't even ask you they just tell you shut your light off and go push carts. And don't dare complain because then next week you will only get one day on your schedule. All we can hope for is CHANGE ! Good luck everybody and remember there are certain people there that do appreciate what you do. You will know who they are. Merry Christmas

  5. I have worked for BJ's for over three years now and have about had my fill after seeing my W2. I can't believe the duties to perform as a Deli Supervisor in a deli that pulls in over 10 thousand a week in a slow week and over 13 in the summer and holidays. I work 6 days a week and one of those days is sunday open to close. I made 23,000+ this year and I am now furious to find out that this position only gets one raise upto 50 cents a year. I work my but off for this company and I have since day one. Not only to better the company but to better myself. I do whatever they tell me and everyone under me in my department calls out at least once a week making it nearly impossible to get work done. I however have only used two days sick time in the past year for oral surgery. I consider myself a model employee that take my job as if it was my own business. Why? because I have pride in my own work. They say they base pay on surrounding stores, all of those stores do not do half the work it takes to do what we do to keep the store running. They have people in thier headquarters doing the ordering. Not taking a week off for the holidays when I worked 2 months straight with one day off. They have work areas built around safety and make it so much eaiser for sanitation. and finally, they have the payroll. And your welcome for the 89 1/2 hours I worked to help rebuild all the steel in the building. Or the fact that for the first time since my family members passed away I couldn't visit my grandparents grave this Christmas season because I was counted on as the Deli Supervisor to make it through the holiday season with only 3 other employees in the department. Now tell me I am not good enough for a raise. That is what working at BJ's means to me this January while the company get's richer and richer and we get poorer and poorer. Thank you BJ's for the holiday bonus I worked so hard for this season.

  6. I worked for Bj's as a cashier for about a month. I told them this was a part time job for me because I already had a full time job and I only wanted 3 nights a week. What did they do? Schedule me for 5 or 6 nights a week. I worked in retail before and it's still the same. During my interview the personnel manager bragged about how much their sales were up during the recession then on the other hand said they could only afford to pay me $7.65 an hour. Then I had a second interview with the general manager and he, knowing that my full time job was/is a union job bashed unions saying everyone here does everything and there's no such thing as seniority or union wages. Regardless of all that I was offered the cashier job and I accepted it, because I figured I could use the extra money for Christmas. I had to quit because of too many hours and I felt they treat their employees like teenagers. I mean you cannot even accept a check without approval for your FLS. Even when the FLS tells you to take the check, thet doesn't mean it won't bounce. The cash registers are in dissary missing buttons and the scanner doesn't work, I had to scan everything with the scan gun which makes it harder for a new cashier. I thought while I was on the register missing just about all the buttons, doesn't this place have a contract with IBM to maintain these registers? When I asked that very same question, I was told just to deal with it. I didn't deal with it, I quit because I felt I was treated like a teenager. But oh well, that's just the way it went. If the adult workers were smart they organize for union representation. That way they would get a lot more respect from management.

  8. you did NOT read my citation on this very thing. Dealers, a small
number of them, are currently involved in criminal sales of guns of the
majority of illegal gun purchases, private citizens rarely.

We need the money YOU'd take to run such a stupid program to catch a
tiny handful, or discourage a tiny handful, of criminals instead of us
using it on actual occurring crime.

You seem to have some kind of block against seeing that forcing such
"registration" schemes, for that IS what it IS, runs counter to our
principle of innocent until proven guilty.

  10. Wow! I just googled Bj's looking for the thing to get the w2's online and came across this. It has made me sad to see so many disgruntled employee's from all over. I work at club 41, and I LOVE it. We are all like family. Our G. Manager is awesome, he's fair but tough, he cares about his store, and team. I am just a regular hourly, no special title, not even a supervisor...and I still love the store I work at. You can be having a crappy hectic day at home, and walk into work and everyone is smiles and says hello. Our managers are super easy to talk to about anything. CLUB 41 apparently we ROCK!
