BJ's continues to acquire more and more retail space during a recession, and set their sights on potential areas for growth.
This time they're inches away from approval in Howell, New Jersey.
So as they continue to expand during a recession, do the excuses of being hurt in a bad economy warrent the complaints we recieve on not getting enough hours? Let us know...
Plans for the nearly 45-acre site include the 117,925-square-foot BJ's Wholesale Club with a gas station and tire sale and service area.
What is the company that we work for thinking about...how the hell are they going to open another new club? They should focus on the ones that they already have open, the sucky ones really need some special attention! Take some of that extra money that you guys are spending on a new club and divide between the ones that you already have! More payroll = happy team members = equals happy MEMBERS!! Just do the equation, simple math is not that difficult...It didn't take a Home Office genious to figure out, I'm just a cashier!
ReplyDeleteI agree... what the hell are you thinking opening a new club in this recession? I'm well aware that it's all about the money. You need to look at what you are doing to the clubs that are doing well in spite of this recession.
ReplyDeleteThis penalizing a region with cutbacks and layoffs because several of the clubs (in the region) are not doing well is ludicrous! I thought when they shuffled and/or fired CEO's at corporate level that the dead wood was gone and things would get better! But silly me assumed there were intelligent people running this company. It seems the "instant gratification" mentality survived at head quarters! When are you going to realize you are distroying your own futures? Haven't you learned anything with the ecomony going down the toilet? Opening a new club will NOT fix the problems with this chain. Looking at individual clubs, maintaining the ones that are making the money makes sense! We are 'carrying' the low volume clubs like Mays Landing, Voorhees, etc. This makes no sense what-so-ever!
I don't know why I even bother venting here, because the ones running this site (home office, for those who haven't figured it out yet!) are just checking to see how far they can go before they throw us a bone to shut us up for a few months before making another idiotic move to make money at our expense!
Why am I posting anonymously? Because I'm most likely already on their list of "trouble makers" who asks too many intelligent questions along with telling other employees to question what they are told without checking policies.
NEVER complain to Human Resources about a manager because they go right back to the manager. I guarantee you NOTHING will be done and that manager will make your life HELL till you quit or they fire you on a trumped up charge. And I'm not talking about lazy employees looking for a free ride. LMAO!
WOW! Someone read my mind! LOL!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone at H.O. is reading and possible taking heed to these statements... you might want to listen to your employees who seem to be more intelligent than you give them credit for!
Bette, coming up on 23 years at lucky club 13!
You need to make an argument as to why we need more hours to run the stores.
ReplyDelete"No more stores" is exactly the wrong direction to be heading in.
"We are 'carrying' the low volume clubs like Mays Landing, Voorhees, etc"
ReplyDeleteWell, well, well...It's a blessing to finally meet the person that has "carried" our lowly clubs all of these years.
I have to thank you for so much for your over acheivement at #13 to pick up the rest of the underacheiving South Jersey clubs.
Wow, i can't imagine why Rafat loves to beat your club down. I hope you and the rest of your Dunkin Donut coffee drinking asses, get your clocks cleaned.
Must be nice to claim the fame of a "used to be" club.
Go fuck yourself.

WOW Willie Mo!
Truth hurts, doesn't it!
P.S... nice vocabulary, sign of a true intellectual.
AND... for the record, there are other clubs besides #13 that are carrying the low volume ones. So I guess the rest of us "Dunkin Donut drinkin' asses" will be getting our clocks cleaned too!

The only thing Rafat cares about is his bonus and he'll beat down any one who gets in his way.
It's his job...
UNION...THATS WHAT WE NEED,,,UNION,,,UNION
ReplyDeleteAll a Union will do is collect dues out of each paycheck. If you work 5 hours a week or 30 hours a week, the SAME amount of dues comes out. Real Intelligent Thinking Anonymous Union Blogger
ReplyDeleteyou poor souls,,,register people clean up a spill,,floor people run register, unionized you will have one job. costco pays higher wages without a union and gives bonus to every team member,,,bj's cuts payroll so shut up about (not enough help),,,stop the bitching and grow up,,,,tell laura sen we want to make money to,,,unionize
ReplyDeleteIf BJ'S would follow Costco's game plan, they would be number 1 instead of Costco. Stop the griping, be glad you have a job, and if you are so unhappy, GO TO COSTCO.

The truth is that i am my club's highest paid hourly employee.
And i'm cool with that. Regardless of my vocabulary.
congrats to club 74 outstanding on audit great job Gladys
ReplyDeleteWe did really well. I hope the club gets a party!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Gladys and the team at 74
ReplyDeleteEveryone at my club knows about this website. There is a lot of negative comments about fellow team members. I feel that a couple people were just venting because they have issues that no one seems to be concerned about. I think this BJ's Workers Blog was a good place to do that and they felt comfortable doing so on here because they noticed that they could post anonymous. They feel that if they bring these issues up that thier job would be threatened and the reason I feel this way is because if they find out who posted anonymously they are going to be fired. People want to find out who posted what so bad but thats why I'm thanking you because you let the team members without a voice be heard without the fear of repremand. Instead of trying to find out who posted what, I think they should try to right the wrongs within instead of planning a vengeance on the postee. Once again thank you for having a place for the "no voices" be heard.
ReplyDeleteManagers also can get written up and fired. If you are not " in the clique", good luck trying to get ahead.
ReplyDeleteyeah get in the clique of good managers and you will go far with BJ's
ReplyDeleteBeing in a "clique" is true. Why else would you make a bakery manager a loss prevention manager or a cash office person a customer service manager without any prior experience.
