BJ's Store Closings...

From the State, South Carolina

From staff reports

South Carolina's only BJ’s Wholesale Club will close today in Greenville.
The Massachusetts-based chain announced last week that it will close the store on Woodruff Road for failing to meet sales expectations, company spokeswoman Maria Fruci told The Greenville News.
BJ's operates 178 wholesale clubs in 16 states. The Greenville store opened in 2000 and employs about 60.
Fruci told the Greenville paper the company has no plans to close any additional clubs.
BJ's members in the Greenville area will receive pro-rated membership fee refunds
What are your thoughts?  We've gotten a few email's asking if we've heard any rumors that would affect the NY/NJ area, we'll keep everyone posted.  But what's the feeling around the clubs?

Here's an article regarding the development that will overtake once BJ's vacates.

It's always scary when one the places you work for closes. I think sales are down but we are still doing better than a lot of other stores. The problem is you need to have happy employees to keep members coming back. That starts at that top with management. If the mangers are not happy, the employees are not happy, which therefor makes the members unhappy. The employees need to stop talking to the members about how bad the company is. If they keep doing that people will not want to shop there any more. Mangers need to start repremending them and let them know that their behavior is unacceptable. If thay don't like their job than by all means please do us all a favor and leave. The other thing they ned to do is stop threatening to call home office. Grow up and act like adults. If everyone is so worried about their job you would think they would try to improve their attitude and how they do their job. It's the employees that screw up all the time that are ruining it for the ones who really want to work there.

No its not the Employees, if management is not handling things like that then its a sign that they are not doing there jobs at all. Problems start at the top.
